The STEM2Youth Bloomington Chapter serves communities across Bloomington and Monroe County, expanding access to STEM opportunities for youth through partnerships with organizations such as Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business and local schools including Childs Elementary, Clear Creek Elementary, Grandview Elementary, and Batchelor Middle School. In a city shaped by higher education, entrepreneurship, and creativity, the chapter helps students explore engineering, coding, design thinking, and innovation, empowering them to imagine new possibilities for their futures and their community.
Chapter Founders: Abhinav Maddala
I’m Abhinav Maddala, a freshman at Indiana University. I strongly believe STEM is something everyone deserves, not something reserved for the few, and I’m passionate about bringing hands-on learning and mentorship to underprivileged kids who do not always get those opportunities. As a student, I’m drawn to practical problem-solving and building programs that make technical subjects feel clear, welcoming, and possible. Whether I’m teaching, organizing, or creating resources, I’m always looking for ways to turn curiosity into confidence and grow as both a learner and a leader.
